In the morning of April 22, the handover ceremony was held in Kigali, the capital city of Rwanda, for China-Aid Rwandan government administrative office complex project undertaken by TIEC.
Edouard Ngirente,The Prime Minister of Rwanda, and Zheng Jianbang, the vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Over 100 prepresentitves including the Minister of Finance of Rwanda, Uzziel Ndagijimana, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Permanent Secretary of Infrastructure and other Rwandan dignitaries, the Ambassador of Rwanda Rao Hongwei, the Commercial Counselor Wang Jiaxin, and other staffs of the Embassy, employees of TIEC, Xinhua News Agency and local news media reporters, attended the ceremony.
Before the handover ceremony, the Prime Minister Ngirente and the Vice Chairman Zheng Jianbang visited the building, and expressed great satisfaction with the construction quality of the office building and modern equipment.
In his speech, the Vice Chairman Zheng Jianbang pointed out that the project is currently the largest China-aid project fRwanda. It is a major achievement of the “Belt and Road” initiative in Rwanda and a concrete manifestation of pragmatic cooperation and brotherly friendship between the two countries. Rwanda’s political and economic harmony has continued to grow rapidly, setting an example for countries facing development in Africa and the world.
The Prime Minister Ngirente said that the opening ceremony of the office building is of historical significance and is a favorable testimony to the continuous advancement of the relations of China and Rwanda. This beautiful, modern office building will witness the efforts of the Rwandan government. Rwanda is grateful to China for its valuable assistance in the fields of infrastructure construction, agriculture and education. It is hoped that the two countries will cooperate closely in bilateral and multilateral fields to further promote Rwanda's economic development and social prosperity.
The Vice Chairman Zheng Jianbang and the Prime Minister Ngirente unveiled the nameplate of the office building and handed over the key symbolizing the ownership of the office building to the Rwandan government on behalf of the Chinese government.
Rwandan government administrative office complex project is located in Kigali, the capital of Rwanda, with a total construction area of 16,376.56 square meters. It can accommodate 1,100 persons from the Prime Minister's Office and four ministries and commissions, which will greatly improve the office environment and conditions of Rwandan government.
